LEADING AUDIO PRODUCTS MANUFACTURER GAINS PRODUCTIVITY

QSC Audio manufactures high end professional audio amplifiers. QSC wanted to transform their process from Push Manufacturing to Pull Manufacturing in order to reduce cycle time and effect better materials management. The reengineering of this process resulted in a 70% increase in productivity and tripled their raw material inventory turns from 25 to 80 turns.

With the unique deployment of carousels as a parts kitting method to the factory floor, the production staff is assured of readily available parts when they need them without complex controls on the system.

The use of bar code scanning equipment allows the real time tracking of parts consumption and links a work order to an Radio Frequency ID tag (RFID). RF tags imbedded into the pallet direct the chassis to the next appropriate location in the progressive assembly process.
