WORKSTATION MANUFACTURER INSTALLS FLEXIBLE FULFILLMENT SYSTEM

Silicon Graphics is the leader in manufacturing high-end graphic workstations. Whether used by engineers designing products with 3D modeling or by Hollywood creating the special effects of movies like Jurastic Park, SGI has been a leader. This latest facility is their second production plant and the results tripled their capacity to 1,500 units per day at less than half the cost of their first production facility.

All component deliveries are under operator control which reduced the complexity of the controls and gave SGI more flexibility in future design changes.

Once the system is fully assembled and gone through run-in, it is transported to the final testing area prior to shipment. Ergonomic workbenches are integrated into the process to ensure proper presentation of the tools, test equipment and product to the worker.

The systems are cased with a pneumatic lift assist and then are transported through an automated strapper then to the shipping area. Zero pressure accumulating conveyor assures an orderly indexing of product through the strapper without collisions.
